Water supplied by water cooler companies is traditionally drawn from natural springs (aquifers) deep underground where it is filtered through limestone.

Whilst the source may well be many hundreds of years old the water that comes to the surface is fresh and tastes so much better than tap water – because it is pure.

Once this water is bottled it has a ‘nominal’ shelf life of six months. To ensure that the end user is drinking their spring water at its optimum quality care should be taken to ensure that stock is properly rotated.

More often than not the bottle of spring water will have a ‘best before’ date printed on the plastic cap.
